A history of advances
Connecture has been leading the revolution in technology advances for the health insurance market since 1997.
Connecture began operations as SimplyHealth, the first online broker for health insurance plans that allowed consumers to comparison shop health plans by premium level, location, physician network, and other personal preferences. Its success inspired two of the nation’s largest insurers to license SimplyHealth as their cutting-edge Internet sales technology.
Recognizing the tremendous market potential of this technology, SimplyHealth established a separate division to develop automation solutions for insurance carriers. By 2001 this division had become the primary business focus of the company, which renamed itself Connecture.
Our President and co-founder Dan Maynard started CCISoft in 1997 in Waukesha, and led the company through several phases before it was formed into Riverwood Solutions in 2001. A 2004 merger between Connecture and Riverwood Solutions cemented our leadership position in the industry.
Since the merger, Connecture has grown by over 70%, acquired two companies, (Insurint in 2010 and Insurix in 2011), and now proudly counts more than half of the top 20 health insurers as clients, including 64% of BlueCross BlueShield plans.
Leading the way to a post-reform world
Connecture has moved quickly to respond to the March 2010 passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
